Everyone’s favourite celebrity geriatric has won over hearts once again, and this time it didn’t include nudity or pool parties. Not that that would have been a bad thing.
Thanks to his donation of $900,000, the famous Hollywood sign and its surrounding area has been saved and will continue to be untouched by construction teams for a long time. Hefner’s was the last of the money needed, out of the total of $12.5 million required for the Trust for Public Land, based in San Francisco, to be able to afford to purchase that land in order to preserve it.
I’m sure the list of donors was long and full of stars (my god), as we already know that at least Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg are among them. I’m glad that the Hollywood sign has prevailed, I just can’t imagine it not being there or being surrounded by houses or something. It may seem silly to want to keep a bunch of letters on a mountain, but I think it’s little (figuratively) things like this that makes a difference; it makes people happy.
