President Chavez,
I have been watching the events in your country for some time now and it has come time for me to cease holding my tongue. I must confess that although I respect you, I have nothing but contempt for your Marxist ideology. I do appreciate what you have done resisting American Imperialism in South America. However, the enemy of my enemy is not by any means my ally, especially since our ideologies are at odds. President Chavez, it is my sincerest belief that your recent course of action is extremely foolish and will result in your death, and possible war in South America.
While your bravery to oppose the American Empire is to be admired, and it is easy to admire men who do not compromise, frankly it is foolhardy to be in such vehement opposition to the cadre of murders who have hijacked the American Republic. You know what was done to people who have opposed the Empire. Many of my countrymen are ignorant of the hundred year history of American intervention in South America, and are not aware of the constant cycle of violent overthrow and warfare which has been caused in order to further American business interests. However, I do expect you to be fully aware of what the Empire is capable of.
Perhaps you have assessed the situation, and believe that you have nothing to lose by opposing the Empire. But your people and the people of my country still have much to lose, since we are the ones that will have to live with the mistakes of your policy. If you truly want to help your people, do not spit in the face of a murderous ogre who has in the past loosed the hounds of hell upon you. You may have survived and regained power, but you know that the Empire will come after you again. You may die, and become a martyr for your cause, maybe even a Che Guevara type, but having ignorant American college students (who most likely will know nothing about you our your nation) wearing your likeness on their shirts will do nothing to help your people.
You have threatened to no longer sell the US Venezuelan oil, you have moved your soldiers to the border of Columbia and threatened war with the CIA’s cocaine plantation, and you have been giving aid to the FARC which the American Government has recognized as a terrorist group (No. 37 on the list). These actions are incredibly foolish, and you are walking into a trap. I hope that you realize that the last country that decided to interfere with the oil and narcotics revenues of the Empire was Afghanistan. Let us not forget Afghanistan’s support for the CIA run terrorist organization Al-Qaeda. The Empire has destroyed that country, but has built their pipelines and reestablished their opium plantation.
President Chavez, I do hope that you are not an ignorant man, and realize that your saber rattling will play directly into the hands of an empire that has gone to war on much weaker pretexts, and has shown itself more than willing to lie, maim and murder to achieve its ends. Mr. Chavez, you must know about the death squads which the Empire funded and trained in El Salvador, Nicaragua and Columbia, and also the US support of dictators such as Pinochet in Chile. The Empire is more than willing to shed the blood of thousands of innocent people to achieve its goals.
Perhaps you believe that the American people will not allow another war to be waged in their names. I can assure you, Mr. Chavez, that the American people are too distracted by Obamamania at the moment to care about an attack on a country which they could not easily locate. The Imperial Army, Navy and Air Force may be over worked and weakened by the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, but the Empire has also shown its willingness to spend billions of dollars to hire mercenaries, many of whom are former members of the aforementioned death squads, to fight their foreign battles. Do you want Blackwater mercenaries on the streets of Caracas? Perhaps you think that Russia, since they have sold you billions of dollars worth of weapons, or maybe China will assist you should the US invade, or send their surrogates and mercenaries to wage war against you. They won’t.
President Chavez, I implore you to reassess your positions and stop agitating the Empire. It will destroy you and harm your people; neither of us wants that to happen. I hope that you are a wise man, and can see, as I do, that the clouds of war are on the horizon, and that such a war, which could be the next World War, would not be beneficial for the innocent people of the United States or Venezuela. Cease your foolish actions before war is quickly thrust upon our peoples.
