It looks like dropping an American hero because of some “compromising” photographs has come back to bite Kelloggs right on the ass. When pictures of Michael Phelps hitting the bong appeared on the internet, some companies were quick to distance themselves from the star athlete which seems to have shattered consumer confidence in their products. I hate to toot my own horn but I did say that coming out in outrage against the man who dominated the olympics last summer like no one ever has would do nothing but hurt your image. In a time when more people approve of the legalization of marijuana than the entirety of Republicans in congress, a time when states have bills put forth to actually legalize the “drug”, and a time when even conservatives are calling for the repeal on the prohibition of drugs, Kelloggs might want to reconsider taking a hard line against marijuana use.
