American Apparel is branching out into the world of big and tall with Colossal Clothing. “Colossal” is defined in The Free Dictionary as “Of a size, extent, or degree that elicits awe or taxes belief; immense. See Synonyms at enormous.” So “Colossal,” as in “Fuck, I can’t believe anyone can be that fat and still be alive,” or “Aren’t large people amazing? I loves me some chunk in my peanut butter.” Thankfully, for the self-esteem of plus-size women everywhere, AA’s poorly-named offshoot caters exclusively towards large men. And it’s certainly a better nomenclatural decision than NOM, 2M4M or the aforementioned teabagging.
