Palm Desert, California — Ah, nature, isn’t it grand? On my way to work the other day, I was enjoying the clear blue skies, warm sunlight, green trees with their Panda Express Trash blossoms….. wait, what?

What the hell is this? Someone tell me, what the hell is this. Why did someone in the Coachella Valley deem it necessary to go out of their way to not only litter, but to stuff their trash between the branches of a small tree in the mall parking lot? Was it not enough to just set it down on the ground, they had to decorate our foliage too? And what more, couldn’t they have even thrown their trash into a receptacle that is usually found outside the doors of the mall? Better yet, how about the myriad of trash cans found throughout the mall to ensure the exact opposite of what I found.
There are a number of ways to get rid of your trash without having to resort to something like this. Was it too much for them to even just take it home with them and toss it in their trash can there? Sometimes the reasons behind human behaviour like this baffles me. If there is reason at all. I also don’t understand people who leave their drink cups, whether full or empty, in the parking space their car is parked in before they leave. It leaves a good chance of someone else running it over by accident and either spraying someone else’s car with the liquid or just adding to the litter. It’s not hard to take it home with you and toss it there, or even try to throw it out before you reach the parking lot.
Please try to take care of your trash in a respectable way that will be able to keep this planet looking somewhat pleasant. We have to share it with not only billions of other people but plants and animals too, you know.
