With the White House’s blessing, Congress may move as early as this week to start what will be a multiple step repeal of the military’s highly unpopular Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy. It’s so unpopular, in fact, that only one in five Americans oppose lifting the ban. With that in mind, it’s astounding it requires a “compromise” to push through the legislature – and is no surprise at all.
