In case you haven’t heard, President Obama will be delivering a speech to school children across the nation next week on the 8th. It’s essentially going to be a motivator to children about education and how important it is, and how to help others learn as well as how learning can help you. I can’t remember seeing any similar speeches myself from past presidents, but I’ll be sure to tune in to see how exactly the president plans to brain-wash our nation’s children to become communists/socialists/secret Muslim terrorists.
Oh, you didn’t hear? The right-wingnuts are protesting the speech, no thanks to Glenn Beck, insisting that he’s going to lead our children into a socialist agenda of some sort, and are going to make their kids stay home tuesday just to show how against the president they really are. So let’s get this straight: Because they think President Obama is going to try and recruit them, hundreds and maybe thousands of children will be kept out of school for fear of a simple speech? Let’s be honest for a second; kids have a short attention span. Just because this speech is going to go on doesn’t mean half the kids are going to listen/watch anyway, so what are people afraid of? Here, let me grab a quote from Politico.com to see what’s so frightening:
In the Sept. 8 speech, Obama will challenge students to work hard, set goals for their education and take responsibility for their learning
Oh. My. God. What is this guy thinking?? Wait, here’s another one:
“He will also call for a shared responsibility and commitment on the part of students, parents and educators to ensure that every child in every school receives the best education possible so they can compete in the global economy for good jobs and live rewarding and productive lives as American citizens,” Duncan said in a press release.
That’s it. That’s the deal breaker right there. No way if I had kids would I subject them to something as evil and Nazi-ish as that! I’m going to go picket right now!
