Our Best of Re:Generator in 2009 feature brought to attention some of that year's posts that had been shrouded in the mists of time. Attention, as it turns out, isn't always a good thing, evidenced by the response of a reader with only a passing familiarity with the English language:

i think your articale is just sick i have watched lazy town and itis just a bit of fun for all ages are you saying that it is inapproprite to have such care free scenes on tv or are you just cynical about a little bit of good clean fun and games without avoiding that the girl is a little sexy and attractive but this add's to the style and class of the show.

I can't help but applaud Alabama Rep. Parker Griffith. He did what most Blue Dog Democrats are afraid to do: admit they're actually Republicans. For that honesty, Griffith has paid a heavy price. No, not from primary voters (yet). Nor has the Democratic Party proper given him much reason to feel sorry he left. His staff, however, were under the impression they were working toward moderately progressive causes, and thus took the news of turncoatery harder than most...

Friction is growing between the United States and the Soviet Union, and both nations are preparing missions to determine what happened to Discovery One. But although the Soviet Alexei Leonov will be ready before the new American spaceship, the Soviets need Americans astronauts to help investigate the problems with the HAL 9000 on-board supercomputer system, and to ease the diplomatic problems associated with boarding an American spacecraft. 2009 wasn't the kind of year to inspire elation, except in its passing. And yet, things didn't turn out as badly as they could have. Which isn't to say this was a good year - just a less catastrophic one than we feared in January.
With the entire world coming apart at the seams, Re:Generator limped onward, suffering the slings and arrows of circumstance but still able to patch up our wounds and write:
