The latest Rasmussen Reports survey has unearthed an interesting trend: While Democrats still poll ahead of opponents, this may be in part because the Tea Party is kicking the GOP’s ass in generic polling.
In a three-way Generic Ballot test, the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds Democrats attracting 36% of the vote. The Tea Party candidate picks up 23%, and Republicans finish third at 18%. Another 22% are undecided.
The Tea Party isn’t actually a party – yet – but if they do move in that direction, and field someone a little more polished than Doug Hoffman, they could have a real chance at Nadering elections for Republicans for years to come.
