You may not know the man pictured above, but he is one bad motherfucker. Just look at his beard, it screams “bad ass”, does it not? We took a brief moment at the Marvel Comics booth at Comic-Con International to say “hello” to Jason Aaron and snap his picture. Jason is currently one of the finest writers in comics. He may be better known for his work with Wolverine than anything else, but most anything he writes promises to be quality. Aaron has worked on titles such as Hellblazer, X Force, Black Panther and Ghost Rider. By far his greatest work is showcased in the brilliant Scalped.
Scalped is written by Aaron and beautifully drawn by R. M. Guéra. The comic follows an undercover FBI agent working on an Indian reservation and is unlike anything else you’ve been reading lately. Gritty, violent and real, Scalped is a page turner from the first issue. I highly reccomend you pick up the four collected graphic novels and dive headfirst into the world of Dashiell Bad Horse that Aaron has created. While I don’t normally endorse superhero trash, I don’t want to find out that Jason Aaron had to go open a deli or work in a call center to make ends meet, so pick up the other titles he works on as well. Wolverine fans will especially enjoy his work with those characters so do yourself a favor and get yourself some new funny books to read.
