National “Intelligence” Director Michael McConnell has a confession to make: The National Security Agency is sort of spying on ordinary Americans. By complete accident. The surveillance state’s supercomputers are sort of like vacuum cleaners, McConnell explains; they suck up everything they come across. But, much like vacuums, they clog easily and will probably break a few days after the warranty expires.
