Okay, I know I missed yesterday, but I have an excuse. I was busy howling at the television after Team USA scored an absolutely impossible gold medal in the men’s 400-meter relay. 32-year-old Jason Lezak, a veteran by Olympic swimming standards, tore the hell out of the water and gouged his way to gold. At 46.06 seconds, the fastest relay split in history, Lezak made a joke of the previous record.
Together with Michael Phelps, Cullen Jones, and Garrett Weber-Gale, Lezak smashed the previous world record by 3.99 seconds.
