This puts other fundamentalist Christian superstars in something of an awkward position. James Dobson and Tony Perkins, among others, have quite publicly been mulling over the creation of a Christianist third party if Rudolph Giuliani secures the Republican nomination, and now Robertson may have undercut them by directing a portion of the potential evangelical base towards the very man they despise. Looks like someone isn’t getting as many Christmas cards this year.
