Sam Raimi, my most favourite of cheesy horror film directors is finally going back to his roots and has created a movie that may both shock and awe. Or maybe just entertain.
If you were getting as tired as I was with seeing only Spidey movies under Raimi’s belt as of late, then you too will be glad to hear that his new movie, “Drag Me To Hell” is a callback to times once forgot. Of course, this is the first I’ve heard of this movie but the trailer found on its official website draws me in almost instantly (save for that “the director of Spider Man” credit).
It’s got the “I’m A Mac” guy in it and Alison Lohman (Matchstick Men, Big Fish, Beowulf), and some creepy one-eyed gypsy woman- so how can it go wrong? It can’t. But to be fair, if some scary gypsy woman came to me (as her loan officer) and said she had nowhere to go, I would be like, “Hey, as long as you don’t curse me you can stay with me!” and be done with it. But I guess some movie characters don’t watch the type of movies they are actually starring in, otherwise they would notice the tell-tale signs of who not to fuck with.
The movie comes out on May 29th in the US
