Hey, remember Andrew Card? He was George W. Bush’s chief of staff, but is probably best remembered as being the one who notified the president that a second plane had hit the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. In the photo of Card we used, he’s trying to figure out how to work his office computer, what with all the confusing buttons and angry sounds it makes. We hear he did eventually conquer the mechanical beast, and was even know from time to time to triumphantly scream “I’m Internetting!” ANYWAY. Card, like other Bush loyalists who want W. to know they’ve still got his back, has been talking shit about the new commander-in-chief to the media. All the good causes of consternation must have been taken before Andy got there, because his complaint borders on the inane.
By Card’s retarded logic, Barack Obama is dishonoring the office of president by not always wearing a jacket and a tie in the Oval Office, and allowing for a more relaxed dress code overall. See, it isn’t dismantling parts of the constitution, spying on American citizens willy-nilly or torturing detainees that’s a slap in the face to what the post stands for, but not adhering the fashion sensibilities of the previous administration. Card’s statement would be stupid enough on its own, but photographic evidence has emerged proving that not even The Decider always followed his formal wear rule only rule, meaning that Card’s political hero didn’t “send the message that people who are going to be in the Oval Office should treat the office with the respect that it has earned over history.” But then, most of us already knew that.
