I’m told November 4, 2008 is a day of some consequence in America. Not wanting to appear out-of-touch with everyday Americans, who, when not playing a rousing game of cricket or disciplining their servants, are pouring over the prestigious political publications of the day, we will be liveblogging throughout the day and into the wee hours of the night, much like we did on Super Tuesday, and to a lesser extent, the major Democratic primaries that followed.
It’s punishing work, but we love our readers too much to drive them into the hirsute arms of CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. We make this solemn oath, upon punishment of death: no matter who wins, there will be jokes.
