The American Family Association is famously known for hating the gays, friends of the gays, people who look like the gays, and friends of people who have relatives whose neighbors look like the gays. So of course when Campbell introduced a new ad series for the holiday season featuring a lesbian couple and child, the AFA reacted with the speed and fury of a tightly wound conservative soccer mom living in the Midwest.
The members of the AFA were asked to send a letter that accuses the company of supporting the “Homosexual Agenda” and that they were gonna go tattle to their friends so that nobody in the U.S. will buy their Un-American and anti-family soup.
Campbell is just another in a long list of companies that have been protested or boycotted for their support of the gay community. When I say support, I mean that if the company in question was walking down the street and saw a lesbian, then the company wouldn’t throw a rock at her or chase her with a big stick
Some of the other companies the AFA refers to as “pro-homosexual” are Pepsi, McDonald’s, Kraft, Disney, and Ford. The association has organized some mean spirited protests and even some boycotts against these companies. However, while some of the AFA’s protests were mildly successful, they’re still the real losers in this battle because they’re all totally stupid.
