Swaziland Parliament Member Timothy Myeni has apologized for a recent statement of his. Recently, Myeni made a suggestion that people with HIV/AIDS should be branded across the buttocks to prevent the spread of the virus in Swaziland. If potential partners wanted to verify the status of the person in question, they would merely need to turn ’round and check the ass of said person.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve either gasped in horror at the violation of human rights, or chuckled a little at the mention of someone’s buttocks.
Myeni withdrew his statement after a massive outrage from AIDS activists in the country.
Exactly what would he have had the branding say?
Warning: Entering of butt may cause HIV/AIDS
