John Voight seems to be everywhere these days. Every time I turn around he’s in the media, describing the bleak outlook for America now that Obama has taken the reigns of our country. Let’s be honest. He did a pretty good job in Catch-22 and a damn fine job in Deliverance, but has anyone given a shit about his acting career since then? I’m sure he was endearing in National Treasure but why are we listening to him on the subject of anything other than acting?
The man can be articulate at times, but is he really an authority on whether or not American politics has us headed for “chaos and socialism”? Let’s check our facts here. Voight is the main donor of DNA for the incredibly crazy Angelina Jolie, a woman prone to incest and willing to adopt anyone vaguely brown and destitute. I mean she thought marrying Billy Bob Throton was a good idea. Voight is also guilty of flip-flopping on his political beliefs, because he is obviously well grounded and knows what he believes.
I can understand differing political views. I’m also the kind of person who doesn’t believe that any political administration is capable of governing this country perfectly. I definitely do not agree with everything that the Obama administration has done, but damn it Voight you need to check your facts and speak from some kind of basis in reality. President Obama alone could never lead this country into “chaos and socialism”, what with our forefathers kind of anticipating that someday someone might try to abuse their power and thusly creating a system of checks and balances. If anyone is going to drag this country into “chaos and socialism” it’s right-wing domestic terrorists (the kind that listen to your insane political views) who think it’s acceptable to kill abortion doctors and then threaten more violence until America capitulates and follows their religious beliefs whether we want to or not. You might want to be careful what you say John, there are people crazier than you listening.
