Half Life 2 Orange Box
Published by Electronic Arts
Developed by Valve
Available for PC and XBox 360 October 9th, 2007

The Orange Box is a repackaging of the amazing 2004 title Half Life 2. Don’t think of it as a simple collection of game and expansion packs as it’s filled with extra features and newly created content. This complete collection contains Half Life 2, Half Life 2: Episode One and Episode 2, Team Fortress 2 and the puzzle game Portal.

While many gamers may have played Half Life 2 for the PC, this is the games first iteration on the XBox 360. Fans of Half Life 2 may enjoy going through the campaign mode again, but it’s the extras that will appeal to experienced players. Veterans of the game will enjoy Episode 2, the second in the trilogy of sequels as well as the class-based, team combat of Team Fortress 2. For those looking for something completely new, you can give Portal a spin and enjoy teleportation-based puzzles and hours of new frustrations.

Even if you have played Half Life 2 before, the sheer volume of material in the Orange Box should be enough to convince you to buy it. Kudos to Valve for packaging their content together cleverly and giving the consumer value for their dollar. With the holiday season approaching, gamers everywhere are sure to be saturated with quality titles to choose from. Giving gamers that little bit extra earns Valve major points for this release.
Pick up the Orange Box tomorrow wherever it is you like to purchase video games.
